Reimagining Tropical Living with TEKA: TenuNYamaN at Jia CURATED 2026
A More Considered Way of Living
At Jia CURATED 2026, TenuNYamaN presented a vision of tropical living where architecture exists in conversation with its surroundings — bringing together space, material, landscape, and everyday experience.
Set within the coastal environment of Bali, the pavilion explored how contemporary living can remain connected to nature without losing the comforts and possibilities of modern life. Rather than treating the surrounding landscape as a backdrop, it became part of the experience itself.
Jia CURATED provided a setting for this approach to unfold, bringing together different disciplines and perspectives around Indonesian design, craft, and contemporary living.
Material in Conversation with Nature
Throughout the exhibition, TenuNYamaN was experienced as a living environment — a space for gathering, moving, resting, and engaging with its surroundings.
Within this setting, TEKA engineered wood flooring became part of the spatial experience. Its grain and texture complemented the architecture and surrounding landscape, creating continuity between the built environment and the natural world.
Rather than standing apart from the space, the material worked quietly within it — adding warmth, depth, and a natural sense of place.
Living in Context
TenuNYamaN reflects an approach to design shaped by its surroundings, where architecture, material, and everyday moments come together naturally.
At Jia CURATED 2026, this idea was experienced not simply through the pavilion itself, but through the way people interacted with the space throughout the day — allowing the architecture to become part of the rhythm of tropical living.
